School Picture Day

So far this has been the hardest age to try to capture photographs of Em she will not look at the person taking the picture and smile. She will however look at them and make silly faces or talk or close her eyes or anything else but smile. We tried to take a couple prior to school pictures because I have no idea how they will turn out. When she left school her dress had orange sparkly paint all over and her bow was positioned on her head like Jane Fonda would wear a sweat band.

Friends and Talking

This is Emma's friend from next door and her day care provider's daughter. They all hang out together at daycare and this is one of the times they were at the neighbors riding bikes for the last nice day of the season. Em has a habit of shortening your name to whatever she wants to call you... For example the little girl on the left is Kaylee and she calls her Kaya, her mom's name is Shannon and she calls her Shanna. Same with Archie's granddaughter Kaylee, she is Kaya. Jayda's sister's name is Megan and she is Mega.
She has also decided to make everything plural. Mommy, I am tired, I go to sweeps. I have to go potty, I have to go poops. I am hungry, I want some dinnners.
Em has also started to understand when I tell her not to interrupt when we are talking, that Mommy is talking. I need to start referring to myself as I because when I interrupt her she tells me, Emma is talking ! She is also still trying to figure out correct phrasing, she keeps saying Yes I are.

1st day of Pre School

Emma loves her pre school. She is the only girl with 5 other boys, she calls them her "people". She has a favorite one and the rest are just a little jealous. Going to pre school also helped get Em potty trained. Within a couple weeks of going with the rest of the kids she started doing it at home!! Finally, I thought it would never happen. Also since school, we have noticed the little tongue thing going on when she is concentrating on something, very cute.

Washington County Fair

She looks like she has the coordination down to drive it away!

She had way too much fun in the back of the police car!

Milking a cow.

Pumping Water.

Riding her first pony.

Best of friends.

We took Em to the fair yesterday, she loved the rides. The biggest mistake was not giving her a nap. She would not tolerate the lines crying every time she had to get off a ride it was horrible. We finally left since she wasn't getting the concept of standing in line for her turn. After a nap and food today her and I decided to try it again. It was like night and day. We both had a great time. After a couple rides we saw our neighbors there and Emma had her favorite friend to ride with. This video is of her first ride on the first day. I thought she might be scared when it started moving but I was way off on that!

Photography

Check out the link below to my friend AnnMarie's photography website. She photographed Emma and her girls while we were visiting them. The twins were born a couple days before Emma in the same hospital and we all met in the nursery. They were also adopted and it has been wonderful being able to stay in contact with their family. Make sure you check out the rest of her pictures too, they are just amazing!
