Good times

Big grin cause she was pouring cold water on Mommy

It was hot outside but the water was still cold !!

Watching tv in the toy chest... her favorite place to sit at Vicks.

Bailey took one for the team and hung out with her and Veggie Tales

She keeps stealing my sleep mask to sleep with at nap time. When I leave
for work and she climbs in to cuddle with Dad he says it is the first thing she
looks for to put on.

Helping Dad

Yesterday it was very cute, Archie was mowing and Emma wanted to help but she didn't want to be by his mower when he started it up. She climbed on the deck and got her mower down and followed him around the yard helping Daddy mow.

She is also talking up a storm now. My favorite is when she gets very excited and forgets which one of us she is talking to and calls us Mommydaddy or dadmommy it is supercute. Archies favorite is when she wants you to do something she says "Come on Daddy' or Come on Mommy" or if you are going somewhere she tells you "I coming" If I can record her saying it I will post it.

Ok just one more....

Yesterday I didn't get to spend much time with my family because I spent over 2.5 hours listening to people complain and yell at myself and the 3 other Eboard members because they have no concept of what we really do and get done for them so they fill in the blanks and make stuff up. It is sad really but that is how alot of life is, you complain about something so much until you are a part of it then your eyes are really open and you realize that you really had nothing to complain about before. Now you have something to complain about because no one really gets it, they don't get the long hours behind the scenes that go into projects, the times your husband has to keep your child out of earshot because of teleconferences or vacations that are spent working on said issues. But now no one wants to hear about your complaints because you asked for it. After this wonderful waste of time I had to wait for Arch to come pick me up because he had the car for jury duty. So needless to say it was a late night after a long day.

So to make up for this I decided after work I was going to hang with the little girl and spend some time with her, especially since she didn't have a very good day. Just whiny, tired and ornery. Guess I thought I had the magic to fix it when I got home. No dice, didn't happen. I walked in and she greeted me with "I got feet", instead of the usual "I got shoes". Don't ask just her thing. So I said lets go play in your room, lets play kitchen. Nope she wanted to play with the tool table, no problem! That lasted for 3 minutes and 20 seconds then she wanted to climb on it and hold on to the top and rock it like a fair ride. I got her down and tried to distract her with dollies, she got back up, I got her back down. She picked up the toy drill and hucked it, she got in trouble. You are talking 10 minutes in the door !!! So I finally get her to pick it up put it back on the table and she runs out of the room. It took me 10 minutes to get her to play hide and seek, she found me in the bed hiding under the covers. Then she wanted to be under the covers and me to "go". Go where I don't know but not in the room with her. When she decided to climb down she found her v tech game and took it on the couch. I made a quick phone call since this game had no room for mommy and then had to hang up when she decided she was done and got a pencil from who knows where and started running with it when I told her to stop. She dropped it and did a head dive into her little couch and hurt herself. Head diving is normal, hurting herself while doing it is not. After 20 seconds of comfort she was up and running again. I sat on the couch and asked her what she wanted to do, well that entailed climbing up behind me jumping on me, throwing the pillows on the ground and the laundry that Dad had just folded. Sigh.... I just wanted to be the hero and play a nice game of kitchen.

Bad Habits

So Emma had this little spitting issue a while back. It finally resolved itself after a while finally! It has reared its gross disgusting head again and I couldn't figure out why until last night.

I had gotten her the movie Madagascar and she fell in love with it. She can't say the name so she just calls it the movie. She began asking for it every day and even if everyone doesn't admit it sometimes it is just easier to get stuff done. So there are a couple scenes in the movie when the animals are drinking the sea water. Well they don't drink it they take a sip then spit it out because it is gross but they don't have anything else. The last scene has them all spitting it at each other. Well little Emma Grace had a cup full of juice last night and was watching her movie and the end spitting scene came on and what do you know she started spitting just like them ! She is grounded from that movie! Bad mommy !

Appliance shopping and entertainment

I cannot stand appliance shopping but we are in the dark ages where our tv is concerned. We have turned into the family that literally had 4 tvs to watching this little minuscule tv in the kitchen since the switch over because that is the only one for some reason plugged into that stupid tv box the people that didn't have cable had to buy. Yes we do not have cable and haven't had it in the 10 years I have lived here, but you can bet your bottom dollar we are getting it as soon as we get the new tv! I cannot take one more time of rescanning for channels or moving the wrong way and the picture freezes up. Anyway, we went shopping for the 2nd time which I mistakenly believed was to go get a tv since we had already spent another prior evening "looking".

While my husband was shopping I got to entertain the little girl. She wanted to walk, and the answer is unequivocally no, not in Best Buy. Walking for her is running up and down every aisle as far away from you as she can get because she thinks it is a free for all and tries to see how fast she can run! So we went to the movie section and we were not allowed to walk past the Backyardigan section (she is obsessed) because if I did she screamed "that way" pointing back at that section. So I got to stand there (if I didn't want to hear the screaming which sometimes is soooo much easier!) and look at each and every Backyardigan dvd. Fun times, no!
